Effective date: October 26, 2026 Version 1.1
InHealth Medical Services (“InHealth”, “we”, “us”) delivers health coaching and program services remotely, by live video visit, by telephone, and by secure message through the InHealth application and member website. This document explains what that involves, what its limits are, and what you are agreeing to.
Please read it before your first visit. You will be asked to confirm your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
A virtual visit is a live, two way, real time video and audio conversation between you and your InHealth coach, conducted over an encrypted connection. Where video is not available or not workable, a visit may be conducted by telephone.
Between visits, you and your coach may exchange secure messages in the application, and your coach may review readings from a connected device in your program.
Your InHealth coach supports you in making changes to diet, physical activity, tobacco use, and other health behaviors, following the curriculum of the program you are enrolled in.
Your coach does not diagnose disease, does not prescribe or change medication, does not order or interpret laboratory tests, and does not direct your medical treatment. Coaching supports the care you receive from your own physician or other clinician. It does not replace it.
Keep seeing your own clinician. Tell your clinician that you are in the program. Talk to your clinician before changing your diet, your physical activity, or any medication.
Virtual visits and secure messaging are not for emergencies.
If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
We do not monitor messages, device readings, or program activity in real time. A message you send may not be read for one or more business days. Your coach is not available outside scheduled visits and normal business hours.
Before your first visit, we will ask for your current physical location and an emergency contact, so that emergency services can be directed to you if something happens during a visit. Please keep that information current.
Benefits. You can meet with your coach from home or work, without travel, and you can usually be seen sooner and more often than an in person visit would allow.
Limits. Your coach cannot physically examine you, take your vital signs, or observe anything outside the camera’s view. Some things that would be apparent in person are not apparent on video. Your coach may not be able to help with a question that requires an examination, and may ask you to see your own clinician.
Technology risks. A connection can fail, freeze, or drop. Audio and video quality vary with your internet connection. A visit may need to be rescheduled or completed by telephone. Electronic transmission carries a risk, however small, of interruption, technical failure, or unauthorized access despite the safeguards we apply.
Device readings. Readings from a connected scale or blood pressure cuff are informational and are not reviewed in real time. A reading is not a clinical finding.
If something goes wrong. If your connection drops during a visit, your coach will attempt to reach you again by the same method, then by telephone at the number in your account. If you cannot be reconnected, we will contact you to reschedule.
We do not record video visits. We do not retain the audio or video of a visit. Video and audio are encrypted in transit.
What is retained is your coach’s documentation of the visit, which becomes part of your program record, and the scheduling record. You may request a copy of your record as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
Please do not record a visit without telling your coach. State law in some places requires the consent of everyone on a call before it can be recorded.
Your surroundings are your responsibility. Take your visit somewhere private, on a network you trust. Anyone in the room with you can hear the conversation.
Your health information is handled under HIPAA and under our agreements with your health plan, as described in our Privacy Policy and Notice of Privacy Practices. The video platform we use operates under an executed business associate agreement.
You must be physically located in the United States at the time of a visit. Tell your coach if you have moved to a different state, because program availability and, where a licensed clinician is involved, the ability to deliver a service may depend on the state you are in.
Your program sponsor pays for your program. InHealth does not charge you for virtual visits under the sponsor paid programs. You are responsible for your own internet and mobile data charges.
